Media liaison & publicity

Do you need a fabulous media release? A media strategy?

I have worked on both sides of the fence – as a journalist and as a publicist. I have been employed as a journalist for the Sydney City Hub, the St George & Sutherland Shire Leader, the Illawarra Mercury, the Penrith Star and Bathurst’s Western Advocate. I have worked freelance for outlets as far flung as Germany’s Die Woche newspaper and an on-line travel site based in New Zealand (I wrote the stories on Cuba and the Czech Republic). As a media officer for Arts OutWest in 2003-05, I wrote media releases and presented arts information to media outlets throughout the central west of New South Wales. This included scripting and presenting the Arts OutWest segment which was part of the Prime TV (Channel 7) news bulletin one evening a week.

One of my current clients is the Australian Film Commission, for whom I'm publicising some of the Big Screen festivals now being held around the country.
